We had to share this amazing report from the ever-indefatigable Food Babe – who had to get past a serious corporate ice wall to find out what was actually in Starbucks’ “Pumpkin spice latte” drink! For the average consumer, it’s safe to assume that if it wasn’t for hard-core campaigners like her, people would simply have no real clue at all what they are consuming.



The main takeaway? That this beverage is junk food. It does not contain any pumpkin whatsoever (how messed up is that?) – but contains an astonishing amount of sugar, together with all manner of other artificial ingredients.

One of the greatest causes for concern here seems to be the Class IV Caramel Coloring. This lab-created additive is reported to have been found by scientists to increase the risk of of lung cancer and leukemia in mice at every dosage level – and there have been campaigns for it to be banned.



Do you think it is a crime to put ingredients in food and fail to disclose what they are? I personally think it’s a form of abuse.
