Scientists have reported that what has been predicted for some years is now a reality: New bacterial strains have now been found that have evolved to be completely resistant to all known antibiotics, heralding the beginning of the “post-antibiotic era” and the possibility of “untreatable infections”. [1]

Let’s just back up a bit here. Untreatable? What they mean is “untreatable by conventional methods”. They have (of course) completely ignored the possibility that other methods (ahem *cough* herbalism) might have the very answer they have been seeking all along.

Anyway. This really is happening. The new report, [2] just published in the prestigious Lancet journal, has discovered new E.coli strains from food animals in China that are resistant to colistin (colistin is considered the “last resort” antibiotic in this case). This new trait is more significant because it has been found that it is very easily shared between bacteria. It is thought that the development was likely caused by overuse of antibiotics – a controversial practice in CAFOs (Concentrated Animal Farming Operations).

The scientists summarized their findings by stating “Our findings emphasize the urgent need for coordinated global action in the fight against pan-drug-resistant Gram-negative bacteria.”

Now that is true – but what is this “coordinated global action” they are considering? Even stronger “bacteria-nukes”?

Surely they know that this is going to lead to… you guessed it… even stronger bacteria.

The orthodox medical profession’s “great fear” here is that if bacteria become completely resistant to treatment – also known as the “antibiotic apocalypse” – medicine could be “plunged back into the dark ages”.

This is now expected to actually happen. Antibiotic resistant bacteria are now expected to cause over 10 million deaths by 2050. [1] So clearly something needs to be done – and the answer is NOT antibiotics.

Perhaps they might also consider stopping the absolutely despicable practice of forcing animals to live in tiny cages in their own shit for their entire lives and then progressively giving them stronger and stronger antibiotics in an attempt to overpower the diseases directly caused by the atrociously unhealthy living conditions? These hideous practices are not only a crime against nature but are the ultimate breeding ground for “the perfect bacterial shit-storm”. That’s a huge part of the problem right there. Karma’s coming right back to bite us on the ass… just saying…

A Viable Alternative To Antibiotics?

The facts are clear: It is time to prepare for the end of antibiotics – and we need to change our tactics. This is serious. It’s time to learn, time to grow and time for new ideas. Let me ask a critical-yet-overlooked question here and put forward a common-sense hypothesis.

Why is it that bacteria develop resistance to antibiotics in a few years or less, but essential oils have continued to maintain their effectiveness against bacteria since ancient times?

Please think about this question and let it sink in.

The entire problem with the orthodox approach to medicine is what could be known as the “if it moves, nuke it” approach. However what they found years ago with bacteria is that “attacking” them with single-molecule drugs simply causes them to evolve faster – leading to stronger and more dangerous strains. By attacking them, you may save patients in the short term but you leave an even bigger problem for the future to cope with! Antibiotics have been described as the most overprescribed form of medicine – even being prescribed without any signs of bacterial infection “just in case”. But it is very controversial – partly because no doctor wants to be responsible for the death of a patient by failing to administer something that might have saved him.

The point here is – we will not get rid of bacteria. They are in fact part of us, with trillions of them inside every human being. You are a not a single organism, you are an ecosystem! What is required is to keep bacteria in healthy balance – and interestingly enough, “good” bacteria, encouraged to proliferate, keep the harmful ones in check. Immunity is already designed into us and the best thing we can do is support the immune system – encouraging it to become stronger and allowing it to do its job exactly as it has been evolutionarily designed to do.

The same problem is being faced in farming: Ignoring the fact that soil is an ecosystem, chemical pesticides are used to spray the plants. This kills the beneficial organisms in the soil which are supposed to chelate and make bioavailable the minerals that the plants and animals require for optimal health. Thus the plants become more susceptible to disease and pest, requiring (well, not really) stronger pesticides to be applied. Do you see the pattern? Nature might just be a bit more intelligent than we are giving it credit for. Why do we assume that we are smart and that it is stupid – even though we came from it?

We are part of a living system. On all levels. If we kill part of the system, rather than increasing our health, what we have done unbalances the system and this actually ends up killing us too! This could be argued to be the “big lesson” that is facing humans right now as we encounter escalated problems of the exact same kind on all levels – terrorism, cancer, MRSA, etc are all the same thing. A terrorist could in one sense be likened exactly to one of these bacteria. The more you apply the “if it moves, blow it away” approach, the more enraged they become. Those terrorists have children and those children grow up to be your opponents. Do you understand the parallel? It is called fear of the other and it infects us on all levels. That is the disease.

Fortunately, nature has already provided us with an answer to all of this and you can probably predict what it is and what I am about to say: Herbalism.

It’s not just some wishy washy new-age story. This is science. Did you know that in Australian hospitals for example, eucalyptus essential oil is now used routinely as a germicide against MRSA as the use of regular germicides has (surprise surprise) led to strains that are resistant to antibacterial soaps.

Herbal antibiotics are a real thing, in case you didn’t know – and have been in use since ancient times. We’ve reported on this in greater depth recently in our article 12 Natural Antibiotics That Our Ancestors Used Instead Of Pills

I’m not the first person to write about this, in fact, other highly regarded herbalists have already done fine work in this area. On my herbal bookshelf is Stephen Buhner’s 2012 Herbal Antibiotics, 2nd Edition: Natural Alternatives for Treating Drug-resistant Bacteria – which provides in-depth profiles of 30 valuable herbs, noting for each one its antibiotic properties, methods for collection and preparation, dosages, potential side effects, contraindications, and alternatives.

I could give other examples but one, in particular, is close to me: A person well known to me had their life saved from MRSA by the herb Usnea after all drugs failed and the doctors had nothing else left to try. True story.

We evolved alongside plants and have lived in synergy with them since ancient times. In the natural cycle of plants and animals, each fortifies the other in a mechanism poorly understood by current science but actually comparable to genetic diversity within a single species.

It is my firm conviction that scientists will find (if they can allow themselves to open their minds a little and let go of their fears) that nature has already provided everything that we need for health. We become healthier by making things more alive, not by making things more dead.

To solve our problems – we don’t need to apply the death force to them. You will find this across the board. Think about this: How can you possibly make the world more healthy, more alive, by killing parts of it? The sad part is that they have no understanding of life force. It is not something measured by their instruments, therefore they disregard it. (Instrumentation not necessary, humans have fully functioning, built in senses for the detection of this force.)

I hope I have explained this well enough that people will at least get their “fingertips on the ledge” of this concept. I don’t honestly think we have another thousand years to keep perpetuating the same mistake. Surely the amount of suffering and fucked-up disasters we are facing will trigger the notion that “we have not been going about this the right way at all”.

And if scientists don’t “like” this perspective – let me ask you this: Do you have any better ideas?

😳 What Tinnitus Does To Your Brain Cells (And How To Stop It)

After 47 years of studies and countless brain scans done on more than 2,400 tinnitus patients, scientists at the MIT Institute found that in a shocking 96% of cases, tinnitus was actually shrinking their brain cells.

As it turns out, tinnitus and brain health are strongly linked.

Even more interesting: The reason why top army officials are not deaf after decades of hearing machine guns, bombs going off and helicopter noises…

Is because they are using something called "the wire method", a simple protocol inspired by a classified surgery on deaf people from the 1950s...
