Smoothies are great – but who has time to do all that prep every morning? Your new, ambitious diet plans and commitment to being “the new you” might only last a couple of days before you wake up sleepy one morning and decide you can’t be bothered.

Enter the make a month of smoothies in one hour system – which simplifies the process, saves a ton of time and sets it all up in advance so that in the morning, all you have to do is stumble downstairs, pull one out of the freezer, break it up and then blend away…

One of the great things about this tutorial is that you are given options so that you can select the ingredients that you most want. Typically a “green” smoothie might be 40% greens and 60% fruit, liquid and other add-ins – but you can adjust the formula the way you most enjoy it.

Don’t think that just because it is called a “green” smoothie that it is just going to be made of kale and broccoli juice, or some other ghastly-sounding combination. Far from it! For example you could include a wide variety of delicious and healthful options… here are some examples:

Fruit: Berries, pineapple, mango, orange, pear, apple, banana, melon, dates, etc.

Veggies: Cucumber, celery, fennel, tomatoes, carrots, beets, pumpkin or butternut puree

Leafy greens: Chard, spinach, kale and collards, bok choy, romaine and other sweet lettuces

Liquids: Water, coconut water, non-dairy milks (coconut, soy, oat, nuts), fruit juice, tea, fermented and cultured beverages (kefir, kombucha, buttermilk, whey, etc )

Nuts and seeds: Hemp seeds, hazelnuts, oats, chia seeds, flax seeds, walnuts etc.

Nutritional add-ins, herbs, spices and “superfoods”: maca, camu camu, spirulina, ginseng, matcha, acerola, wheatgrass, protein powder, bee pollen, cacao (powder or nibs), cinnamon.

One last tip – for best health results, use organic ingredients, now found by scientists to be much higher in antioxidants as well as much lower in pesticides.
