I can still remember the margarine ads: Margarine was praised as the answer to all our problems and was advertised with pictures of slim, attractive young women to get the point across.

Now, the tables are turned. Numerous reports have criticized heavily processed, manufactured vegetable oil products – and the humble coconut has taken center stage.

Coconut oil is now considered a remarkably healthy commodity with a colossal list of beneficial qualities.
