Ahh, chocolate! Arguably one of the greatest things in the known universe, it is possibly one of the most popular and widely-enjoyed foods in the world. But – as it turns out – some people have been putting to use in ways other than eating it. From perfume to body paint, currency to cognitive enhancer… these are some of the more unusual uses of chocolate that are listed in our latest discovery.

I must confess, I use chocolate in at least one unorthodox way: I use the cacao essential oil as a scent. It’s simply glorious mixed with vanilla and sandalwood!

Those of you who have been following this blog will know that we have featured chocolate a couple of times… first of all we have a detailed page all about cacao – with historical, scientific, medicinal and other facts about everyone’s favorite bean.

On our blog there is also a recipe for Sugar-Free Chocolate Coconut Energy Bars

We’ve also run a post on how to make your own cacao mint soap – an all-natural “mint choc chip” formula for the bathroom!

One thing I am really glad they mentioned at the original, that is worth repeating: Never feed chocolate to dogs, it is toxic for them.

Anyway here is the link to the full list of 15 weird but amazing uses for chocolate:
